Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Angels App LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Heartbreak Hotline mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this Policy.
Who we are
The data controller is Angels App LLC, 312 W 2nd St, # A9904, Casper, WY 82601-2412, United States. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the App:
Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and a relay email address. We do not receive your Apple password. We use Sign in with Apple as the only sign-in method.
Profile information you provide.A display name, an optional profile photo and gallery photos, and an optional location (a city/country you type in — we do not access your device’s GPS or location services).
Content you create. Journal entries (text and, if you record them, voice notes), your progress through healing programs and tasks, saved/favourited items, and — if you use the community — posts, comments, likes, direct messages, and your friend/block lists.
Purchase information. If you buy a program, the purchase is processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of the purchase (a transaction identifier and entitlement) from Apple but never your full payment card details.
Device and technical information. A push-notification device token (if you enable notifications) and basic technical data needed to deliver and secure the service.
We do notuse third-party advertising or tracking SDKs, and we do not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA). We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide the App’s features: your personalised program, journal, saved content, and community.
- To generate optional AI-assisted features you invoke — for example summarising your own journal entries, or verifying a task from a screenshot you submit. Content you send for these features is processed by our AI service provider(s) solely to return the result to you.
- To send you push notifications you have enabled (e.g. streak and program reminders). You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
- To keep the community safe: to review reports, remove objectionable content, and enforce our Terms.
- To comply with law and to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the App.
Legal bases (where applicable, e.g. UK/EU users)
We process your information to perform our contract with you (providing the App), on the basis of your consent (e.g. notifications, optional features you choose to use), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who host and power the App on our behalf, under contract and only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and serverless functions (our backend/hosting provider).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, push-notification delivery (APNs), and payment processing for in-app purchases.
- Our AI processing provider(s) for the optional summary/verification features described above.
- Other users, but only for content you deliberately share in the community (your public profile, posts, comments, and messages you send).
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, or to protect safety, rights, or property.
Community content and safety
If you use the community, remember that posts and comments are visible to other users. You can report content or users, and block users, from within the App. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour and act on reports promptly (see our Terms of Service). Content you post may remain visible until reviewed or removed.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (see below), we delete your account and associated personal data, including your stored photos and voice recordings, and we revoke your Sign in with Apple authorisation. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g. transaction records), and backups are cleared on our provider’s normal cycle.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Menu → Delete Account). This permanently removes your account and personal data as described above. You can also email [email protected] for help.
Third-party links and embedded content
The App shows and links to content hosted by third parties (for example videos and reels from platforms such as YouTube and Instagram, and other external sites). When you view embedded content or follow a link, that third party may collect information about you under its own privacy policy, and we do not control and are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
The App is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Health disclaimer
The App provides self-guided wellbeing content and is not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care. If you are in crisis, use the crisis resources shown in the App or contact your local emergency services.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
